Changelog
Public product updates for goilerplate.
🔥 v2.2.0 (2026-06-01). Logs you can actually read.
Configurable logging that is pretty and colored in development, structured JSON in production, and driven entirely from .env with no code changes.
- Colored, human-readable console logs in development. Color drops off automatically when output is not a terminal.
LOG_LEVEL (debug, info, warn, error) is now decoupled from APP_ENV, so you can turn up verbosity without flipping to dev mode. Empty defaults to debug in dev, info in production.
LOG_FORMAT (pretty or json) lets you switch to structured JSON when a tool scrapes your stdout. Defaults to pretty.
LOG_HTTP toggles HTTP request logging on or off, handy when your reverse proxy already logs requests.
- Sentry stays a separate, format-independent handler, so pretty console logs and Sentry error reporting run side by side.
- Static asset requests (
/assets, /templui, /uploads, favicon) are always skipped so they never bury real traffic.
- Updated the default UI stack to templUI v1.12.0.
🔥 v2.1.0 (2026-05-29). AI-ready out of the box.
Open the boilerplate in Claude Code, Cursor, or any AI coding tool and your agent is productive from minute one.
- New
boilerplate/AGENTS.md: a lean project map that teaches your AI agent the stack, the layered architecture, the golden path for adding a feature, goose migrations, config, and where to find everything in the code. It points to the code instead of duplicating it, so it stays token-light and never drifts.
- A second AGENTS.md ships with the block library, so agents know how to use the 222+ blocks too.
- The full developer docs now ship inside the boilerplate, so your agent (and you) have them offline.
- Custom rules block at the top of AGENTS.md: add your own conventions once, and they survive every future update through a clean git merge.
- Works with any LLM. No tool lock-in.
🚀 v2.0.0 (2026-05-22). goilerplate, unified.
templUI Pro and goilerplate are now one product: goilerplate.
- The full Go + templ boilerplate (auth, billing, dashboards, deployment ready)
- 222+ premium blocks across 33 categories
- One license, one repo, lifetime updates on everything that ships next
No action needed. License terms unchanged.
🔥 v1.9.0 (2026-05-04)
- Stripe Managed Payments is now enabled by default when you select the Stripe provider, so Stripe acts as merchant of record and handles VAT, GST, and US sales tax across 80+ countries. Same compliance benefit as Polar, with no extra ENV flag required.
- To activate, accept the Managed Payments Terms of Service in your Stripe Dashboard and assign a digital-product tax code to each Stripe product.
- Upgraded the bundled stripe-go SDK from v81 to v85.
- Note: Stripe Managed Payments only supports digital products (SaaS, software, courses, e-books, electronically delivered services). Polar remains the default provider.
🔥 v1.8.0 (2026-05-04)
- Storage now uses a single S3-compatible cloud provider for both development and production, giving real dev/prod parity with one config. Cloudflare R2 is recommended (10GB free, zero egress), but any S3-compatible service works (AWS S3, DO Spaces, Backblaze B2, etc.).
- Removed bundled MinIO and the dev docker-compose.yml. Default setup (SQLite plus cloud S3) no longer requires Docker.
- Simpler .env.example storage block and shorter dev task flow.
- Rewrote the storage guide as a short cloud quickstart.
